Telstra Mobile Payments is a secure and simple way for you to get paid quickly, when you do the job. It allows you to process credit card, charge card as well as Visa or Mastercard debit card payments from your customers using a compatible mobile phone on Telstra’s Next G™ network1. Transactions are processed using a compact card swipe device, called the T-Pad, in conjunction with an application that is downloaded to a compatible Telstra Next G™ mobile handset or PDA.

Your customer's card information is securely transferred from the T-Pad to your compatible Next G™ mobile phone and is then processed over the Next G™ network and verified by your financial institution, using the same level of encryption as commonly used in Internet banking.

Telstra Mobile Payments Benefits

Telstra Mobile Payments can greatly benefit your business by:

  • Improving your cash flow through collecting card payments from your customers quickly, in more places.
  • Increasing business mobility by removing the hassle of having to return to the office to process payments and gets rid of the need for traditional paper-based machines, call-in credit authorisations or processing cash and cheque payments
  • Giving your customers peace of mind by adhering to the same security standards as commonly used in Internet banking. Card details are also fully encrypted ensuring no information can be stored on the mobile phone or T-Pad when the card is swiped reducing the possibility of fraudulent transactions.
  • Reduces the time spent chasing late payments
How much does it cost?

Purchase of T-Pad

If you already have a Next G™ compatible handset, simply pay $299 upfront to purchase the T-Pad outright.

If you're also purchasing a Next G™ compatible handset and connecting it to an eligible 24 month Business or Corporate Plan, you can pay off both your handset and T-Pad on Telstra's Mobile Repayment Option over 12, 18 or 24 months.
